Limp mode safe to drive?

Hi there,

Ive got another thread on here atm.

Im currently trying to get a fuel pressure problem out. Suspected lpfp or hpfp related.

Its driving but intermittently going into limp mode.

Ive got it booked in at an idy but its about 2 weeks off.

Is it safe enough to drive in the meantime?

Cheers

Limp mode is a safety precaution from your motor…

To get you (still) (asap) to a safe place, not necessarily to home or a workshop

MHO
Avoid driving it, avoid doing more damage or unsafe situations for you and others…

Thanks.

I see in your signature that you buy pre war and pre 55motorbikes.

I inherited a basket case triumph 6t thunderbird (55) that i will restore one day! Love the old bikes.

Nice! I love pre-unit motorbikes like the Triumph you inherited…

Very rideable still…

Tip: don’t wait to long with restoring it… drive them when you are young enough to kickstart it…
And basket cases take always more time to get them back on the road, than complete bikes even if they are non runners…. There is always a reason why people disassembled them and not assembled them afterwards Cool
