living with the service reminder....
Bought car 2 weeks ago (MY11GS) and had a "service" and stamp in the book. Garage wasn't LR affiliated however sell a lot of them and trade in exotica (lambo/tesla etc) so assume reasonable competence
The service required light came on today (last stamp before latest was 11/12/14)
I've no reason to doubt the vendor did an oil and filter change. I believe the 5 year service includes diff and transfer oil change too.
Two questions
1) will LR reset the light gratis? (Will pigs fly?)
2) if it was you would you get it serviced again or shall I chill out.....

1. Doubtful and I see no reason why they should as they didn't do the service!
2. Go back to the person who did the service and get them the reset the service indicator which they obviously didn't do when they did the service.

I neglected to mention the garage is 100 miles away so would rather avoid going back

OK can see that's a problem.
Anyone with the right equipment can do a service indicator reset, try a local LR specialist or any competent local garage.

Diffs are 10 years (I think) but transfer oil is 5 year interval. there is a service check sheet in the wiki. Id be surprised if any vendor changed the transfer oil as part of a pre sale service.

On a DPF equipped D4 it does a little more than just act as a service reminder, so it needs to be set correctly otherwise you may miss a rather critical warning.

So other warnings won't show unless it's reset? I had decided to leave it until the next service but if it definitely needs attention I'll get it looked at.
