Load Carrier/Cargo Net for Range Rover Sport

Any ideas in regard to where i can get a cargo net for the rear load space, just one to clip everything down on the floor. Everywhere seems to stock roof rack / trailer cargo nets, which do not seem that well suited for the interior.

Thanks

Hi Zilch

I have a brochure from LRA which quotes a Load Retention System (PN VUB503130) that includes a net and two ratchet straps about 2 metres in length for AUD$219.27.

If that is too expensive, I used a cargo net that was for a trailer but had repositionable plastic tie-downs that could be moved to anywhere on the net that I used in my Pajero and cost less than AUD$15. I did use it in conjunction with some ratchet straps from a Volvo that gave peace of mind in heavy off road situations as I did not purchase the cargo barrier.

HTH even though yours is an RRS... (See my gallery for Disco 3 Cargo retention System PDF.)

In the UK we get a bungee net that clips to the four points in the boot floor. It's standard on many models, but my Wife is out in the D3, so I cannot check for a part number. The only cost a few quid, no doubt that will be near $20 Aus, but there you go.

Have you asked the dealer?

Robbie, not yet, i was trying out the after market (Halfords like) autopart companies, to see if there was anything generic.

Hi Leigh thanks for the note, whilst i can afford it, $219 for a net and 2 straps seems a bit extortionate to say the least Shocked are the clips gold plated Very Happy

I will do a hunt on the part number, but may look a bit wider for a more realistic price for something that can do the same job

Cheers

Jim,

I got a cargo net thingy thrown in when I bought my D3.

Talk to the dealer and see what they say!

Well i ended up at Supercheap Auto at Bondi Junction Rolling Eyes and one trunk (cargo/load area) net with clips, a whole 19 dollars, 2 x 2.7 metre straps with ratchets, 6 bucks each, so overall a saving of 188 dollars 8). So being an idiot i invested the rest in an air compressor, digital tyre pressure gauge, and off-road essentials, such as snatch straps etc and a cargo tidy to hold it all, retained by the cargo net of course. Total expenditure 151 dollars and a whole lot more goodies to boot (excuse the pun)

SuperCheap does it for me when I need a bit of retail therapy especially when they have their 20% off days. But in the past I do find that they only offered it for 'stock on floor' and the brake pads, etc for the just replaced Pajero ALWAYS needed to be ordered. So what are my chances with a Series 3 Land Rover?

Thank goodness it'll just be the consumables for a while yet...

Must try harder with my estimates; not only did you beat it by a dollar, you got a much better product.

I'll get my coat...
