how does one lock one's keys in a D3 without having the other set with one

The same way that one locks one's car when one's driver's door latch refuses to believe that the door is firmly shut and that one should be allowed to lock and secure one's pride and joy in a.n. other scrote infested car park.

Bit of a nuisance when one is solo in the vehicle, but it works something like this:

Arrive at destination, switch off and get out as normal.
Shut drivers door as normal and blip the remote
Get greeted by a beep on the horn
Open and shut driver's door firmly and repeat step 2.
Get greeted by a beep on the horn (and are now getting inquisitive looks from onlookers and looks of pity from Toymoto Landcruiser owners)
Walk round to passenger door, open and press the lock button on the dashboard (it's at this point that one mislays one's fob).
Close passenger door and walk away.
After 20 yds, return to drivers door just to really, really check that it's locked and spot that the keys are lying on the passenger seat Big Cry .

Bow down Bow down V many thanks. 1 will try not to Censored well do that, then. 'specially given what 1's Breakdown Cover implies the Censored s will have to do to gain entry to 1's P & J.
Is there evidence that the aforesaid Scrotes have been able to gain entry ? ? And with less damage??

Does that mean the "whole thing" i.e. blade and fob? I'm told that the [b & f] costs ~ £150 including the electronic "set up" process.
Very Happy - ish

[quote="AAA.Happy.Disco1.Fan"]Just so I (try) never to do it - how does one lock one's keys in a D3 without having the other set with one, and so being able to use those to .....

I dont know anyone who carries main key and spare key together, probably end up locking both sets in at the same time Whistle . As for "how does one lock one's keys in a D3" simple. Be parked in the middle of nowhere, get out and and leave key in ignition because you wont be long, daughter puts something in car (and locks doors). Go to get in 5 mins later, only to be confronted with locked doors Big Cry . Mild panic grips as you realise key and phone are in car. Censored Censored Censored then realise only way in is through a window Big Cry . Let me just say, the quarter light window in rear passenger door takes some breaking. Autoglass and £80 excess Big Cry

Really???
Nowadays I certainly wouldn't trust the cellphone-net with
such vital information.

With NSA, FRA, MI5, BND and other organisations listening in,
I have found a safer way to do it.

I call home, tell them to get the extra fob, open an envelope,
put fob in envelope, press "unlock", quickly take out the fob,
close and seal envelope with double layers of cellotape and
put it in the mail.

I know that it m i g h t be a little slower, but much, much safer!!

To be on the safe side, when going to UK
now in September, I have planned to do like this.

I have a small aluminiumtube, with a watertight lid,
and on the morrow of departure, I will take the key,
direct it towards open tube, blast a few "open-commands"
into tube, close it really quick. Exclamation

Then I will place it on a safe location under the car, fasten it with
a cabletie or two.

That will get us at least one or two "openings", should we get
into "locked out trouble"..

Se You all soon..
