London Ultra Low Emission Zone ULEZ and my 2008 D3
Just had a letter from TfL letting me know that from April 8, when the new ULEZ comes into effect, that I'll need to pay an additional £12.50 per day (plus CC is required) to drive into London.
DVLA have sent TfL a list of vehicles they believe to be affected.
This pretty much puts the nail in the coffin for driving up to town any more - which is a total PAI.
Is there any way to 'make' my D3 (2008 SE) ULEZ compliant?the sheriff of nothing

In a word, no, unfortunately .....anything below Euro6 for diesel or Euro4 for petrol is affected.
You have had 11 years use from your D3 - time to move on or pay more to enter the new ULEZ.
Maybe consider an EV next time round; I shall when forced to sell my D4.
Good luck

Might very well be the nail in the coffin for the D3.
Had it from new and love it, but this makes life difficult. Be gutted to see it go as there's no chance of replacing it with a newer one.the sheriff of nothing

I'm in the same position, but tbh, rarely drive into London these days. Just jump on the tube. Do you enjoy searching for somewhere to park, or paying through the nose to park ? I regularly drive in and it takes me no longer than if I were to get to the station wait for a train (if it arrives) get to Waterloo and then across the river to Holborn. The advantages of sitting in the comfort of your own motor at the temperature you prefer listening to the radio vs getting shoved on a train with humans snorting their germs everywhere, are very clear to me

Ah, but for those in a D4 for example, it may not be at the temperature that they prefer. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. I presume no one has converted a D3 to electric yet.
This company are converting all sorts of classic cars to electric. They did a RangeRover Classic recently.

Yup, I think all D3 V8s are Euro4 compliant.
Diesels really get shafted by the cities and politicians.

Just had to sell a late 2014 van and purchase a new one to comply!!
Or pay the charge of course, but entering the zone up to 20 times a month made that a PITA.
Seems ridiculous to me for a van less than 5 years old.
