What are the weak points? what bits are a they common on failing on?

I have noticed the steering wheels don't last that long?

My steering wheel is fine, the reason most people change them is to get the newer style Thumbs Up

Just the same as any other car, try all the windows, switches and buttons. Apply the parking brake, drive the car in low and high range in all gears, check for any knocking sound from the suspension.
Seats all move as they should, seatbelts all retract and come out all the way (rear ones will start clicking when you retract them, as they have a load restraint mode if you pull them all the way out.
