They may be troublesome beasts at times... but by God wouldn't be without one in the snow

Invaluable in the snow, few interesting moments when I pushed its limits a bit but still great fun. Getting a BMW next months but winter driving will be just as easy as keeping the D3. Best of both worlds.
PS Clearing the drive is hard work!!

5 series and a D3 nice fleet there!
My Mini Cooper is also a hoot in the snow! Big 18" wheels hinder its progress somewhat and the overpowering traction control! Still can get about if you are careful. But last winter with VERY deep snow it was garagebound!
Might replace it with a TT Quattro... Who knows.
That is quite a good depth of snow!
Scotland?

The last proper winter (2009/10, not the pussy cat we've just had) SWMBO's Jazz sat under this snow for about 2 months. It's great in up to 6" of snow on winter tyres but over that it acts as a snow plough.
