My old Freelander did it a bit but nothing on the scale of the D3, did not think I was going to actively avoid puddles in the D3. Perhaps they designed it like this so that people didn't get the electrics too wet by driving through the puddles
I find it good fun to speed through a big puddle when you have got someone in close proximity to your exhaust pipe (usually a baseball cap wearing to$$er in a corsa)
Water goes over my roof, hits them!
The L200 turns into Das U200 when performing the puddle reversal manouvere (puddle ends up suspended in mid air at windscreen height). Normally too busy chewing straw and scratching my balls whilst thinking about cider to see what speed I'm doing (it's an L200/Dorset thing), but the wheelarch gap is bloody huge on this wagon.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Sorry, there are rules against that using that stuff on the road. Beats what Mrs DSL thought when she saw the stuff in clear bottles! Best thing is it tastes really nice as well! Any port in a storm as they say....
PS That's just over half the cider produced this year! Happy Days (& nights)!!!!

I think I'll stick to a few glasses in front of the fire! Talking about taking windscreen out, Mrs DSL's D3 is having a new screen fitted today (heating elements not working in parts of the screen) so s'pose could try that but what a waste!!

Seems to be an off roader thing, my D2 was a lot worse at this than the D3 - Guess its to do with big open wheel wells, short (& high) front overhangs etc.
Just stick a wakeboard in the boot & remember to close the sunroof !

Having read through this thread again ...I still can't believe that there is a an actual complaint on this subject What next ?.... someone doesn't agree with the design of windows because when they're open the wind comes in .
Oooh, your cider looks full bodied DSL. Mine is quite a bit lighter but we lost a lot to early wind drop so they weren't fully ripened when we used them.
After a bit of work with the hydrometer we ended up at 12% and dry enough to catch your breath while still having a slight sparkle (based on the test bottle I opened at the weekend, for research you understand). Only 5 gallons though, what with moving house and missing a lot of the apples this year. Will be looking for nearer 20 gallons next year.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

This wasn't really a big complaint it just started with a question to see if mudflaps stopped the water being thrown on the screen in such quantity. And the answer was no, they didn't help. The rest went on from there. The complaint is minor, I would rather the D3 did not do this, as until you have done it once you don't know that it is going to happen. If you know then its fine you can either be prepared or drive faster or slower whatever your preference is. I love the car and even if I knew in advance that it happens it would not stop me buying one but like I say I would rather not be blinded by sheets of water if I could avoid it. I may be a little weird but in general I like to see where I am going.
