Low Battery Mode

I occassionally get a message on the radio display that says "low battery mode"

Does this mean could do with a new battery

If so, whats the best replacement? Any aftermarket ones to replace the original or is it a case of getting one from LR?

Thanks

Ade

Does this occur when you have the radio on loud then turn the engine off / ignition on ??

It does it whilst just normal driving, gives the display and then reduces volume level

I dont know if the battery has been changed in the past, so could be 5 years old?

Searching around, LR sell a new one being 950A CCA, I'm wondering if this could solve my starting problems I had last winter Big Cry

If changing the battery makes no difference then it is probably the alternator. Might save a lot to get it checked first.

Mine does when I use my ipod as above. Any ideas would be welcome.
Can anyone explain this?

I had this last sunday. I had been driving through the countryside for about an hour when the CD player volume went to zero. Switched back to FM radio and volume ok. Back to CD still nowt. Stopped, switched radio/cd off/on, still nothing. Then noticed "low battery mode" on radio/cd screen. Left ignition off for a few seconds, switched back on and everything back to normal. Put it down to "one of those things".

Is it possible the cubby box cools untill the battery is low

I had the same message many times. I already replaced the battery and the alternator has been replaced by the garage. All this in winter 2009/2010.

But with a new battery and a new alternator I was surprised to see this message again. It is true that I do mainly short trips and I am forced by law to have my xenons on even during daytime. And forced by my spirit to have the stereo loud.

I recharged the battery but when running around the car with the charger connected, I found out that the cubby box (cooling box) is cooling even when the car key is in my pocket. I left the cubby box on with bottles in it after hollidays. Is it possible it cools until the battery is low?

After switching off the cubby box, the battery finally reloaded and I don't have the low power message on the radio anymore.

The coolbox should shut down shortly after the key is removed. Mine is a 2006 and was found to be not turning off,was replaced and not had an issue since
