Low battery now Engine management light

Hi all,

I had to jump start the Disco the other day. It had been left for a week with the blackvue on and the battery couldn't handle it. Got it started no problem but the yellow engine management light is on now. I have left the car to go to sleep but it is still on. Do I need s dealer visit to get it switched off? Is the battery just a coincidence?

been on a long run today so there should be plenty of charge there now.

thanks for any advice! Thumbs Up

It can take several hours of driving to recharge the battery. Best to get in on charge for a day or so

Thanks Dunc,

I took a spin to Leicester yesterday (2.5 hours) which seemed to do the trick. I got in this morning and everything is fine again.

Thanks for the reply though! Thumbs Up

Blackvue is an aftermarket camera mounted on the windscreen.

See here as an example; there are different models available: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/blackvue-black-box...r300g.html

I have it hard wired to the car via a fuse and therefore is a constant drain on the battery since it is powered all the time.

I've bought the "Power Controller" box which senses the voltage dropping on the battery and switches off the camera once it drops to a pre-set value. Hopefully this should prevent future issues.
