Maybe you can help me?
prob a simple fault but valeted my car over weekend and ran battery very low due to doors opening, music on etc. Also sprayed under wheel arches (looking at other posts). Anyway, went to start it and not enough juice so put the Battery on charge for the evening. Next day started ok but battery light seemed to come on during the day and later that evening the car sytematically shut down after all the warning lights came on and then the car decided to immobilise itself while I was driving...nice!

So have bought a new battery on the advice of AA but battery light still coming on and worried that same thing will happen. Any ideas? could it be the alternator but just seems a bit coincidental that I ran the battery down the day before and I thought maybe killed a cell or two??

Matt

Did you spray in the engine bay?

Can you get the alternator tested? Definately the correct battery for a D3?

cheers

Poss the charger you used was not suitable, ISTR D3 needs higher input voltage as lead calcium battery. How old is your battery? If more than 4 years or so it's probably knackered and needs replaced, poss not holding charge. Choices, choices!!

No I didn't spray in engine bay but did under wheel arches, Thx, battery was def dead, and replaced with Landrover part. May be something with the charger too, have to look at that.
Had 2 opinions on the alternator and that seems knackered as well so in for replacement today:-( and hopefully that will do it)
