Low coolant warning
Hi all, have had the low coolant warning come on a couple of times, but there’s enough in there, is this the sensor playing up? Have read some threads about it. Also it doesn’t bong as a fault, it shows up as an information icon is this right? I would have thought low coolant should be a bit more noticeable on the dash. Thanks in advance Lee.

Yep that’s normal , needs a new bottle, don’t just change the sensor.

New coolant bottle needed. Mine did it a few weeks ago.
My D4 doesn't bong. Just a red warning triangle on the dash and the words warning of low coolant.

Thanks. Where would anybody recommend getting one from? Seen varying prices and rather get a good one

Just one thing on this....
I noticed my low coolant warning was on quite alot straight after having 90k mile service done (cambelt etc.)
I asked the dealer to change the bottle for me, as I believed this might have been caused by a knock or accident during the service. As it happened they didn't have one in stock, but said to come back if it came on again and they would replace. That was in October, and it hasn't been on since. My only guess is that the float in the washer bottle was getting stuck for some reason and it's fine now OR (more realistically maybe), the coolant was still low after the service, and needed a couple of top ups until it was properly full.Discovery 3 XS - sold

Mine's just started doing this too, also plenty of coolant so obviously a faulty sensor. I've read previously about the ball float getting stuck and blocking the flow of coolant, should i be concerned about getting this fixed ASAP or is it safe to carry on till the end of the month when it's in the garage anyway (again).
Don't really want to call LR Assist out only for them to say "book it in" as they often do.

Yes it can wait.
The float shouldn’t block anything

Hi, I have had the Low Coolant Warning a few times and it also went into Limp mode several times on a long run. Can the Low Coolant Warning cause the limp mode as I checked the fault codes and there was nothing in there that suggested a temperature problem other than the warning on the dash?1964 Series IIA SWB Truck Cab - gone

Does anybody know whether the 'Low Coolant' warning can cause it to go into limp mode?1964 Series IIA SWB Truck Cab - gone
