low heat in cab

Hi there, bought a disco 3 2008(2.7) and not used to the comfort yet! but have a problem with the heat in the cab, the needle never rises to the middle unless run hard on the motorway and even after 20-30 mins mins not really up to heat.I had LR change the thermostat and replaced the coolant bottle so the system should be flushed enough. Cant imagine this being normal, any suggestions welcome please,
thanks eoin

Worth mentioning that in the 8 weeks I’ve had my 2005 D3, my FBH has cut out twice and needed to be reset with an IIDTool.

Once by Bodsy, and one by me after I got my own.

Both occasions it errored a failure after the flame had been lit, and this put it into a locked shut out.

Symptom being one cold car.

Suggest you find someonee with an IID, or even better invest in one

eoin, are you saying the cars interior does not warm up sufficiently? Is so it may be that your heater fan is not working correctly, I had a similar problem and fixed it by replacing the fan control unit, (simple job)

low heat in cab

Or you could simply replace the pollen filter, as My D3 suffered from low heat entering the car since i had it.
The air output was minimal the interior never warmed up despite FBH runing, heat on full and temp gauge showing a nicely warmed engine.
On Removing the pollen filter i found it totally blocked with dirt dust, replaced filter now i have to turn the heat down as when on max its way too hot Embarassed

Thanks for the replies, will check the filter next weekend
Don’t think the fbh is working as there is no heat coming from the body of it and can easily be touched after a trip. Interesting trip today where I hit a pot hole and split the alloy wheel in two!

so took the 2 pin plug off the fbh and re plugged it after 3 secs which rebooted the fbh as suggested on another forum, this has worked a treat and now there is heat in the cab a short while after starting the wagon. the temp needle is still not up to the middle position after a 30 min run on country roads but dont know if thats going to be a problem.
