Low power below 2k revs (intermittent) EGR code P0489 |
|
Hi
Looking for some wisdom.
At the weekend the car started to struggle massively below 2k revs, but with no EML
I thought it likely to be one of 1. Turbo Actuator, 2. Split Intercooler Hose. 3. EGRs
It seems to be intermittent, worse when cold. Once it gets above 2k revs it pulls like a train as usual.
Had the codes read today and the only code is
EGR P0489 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Bank "A" Circuit Low.
The fact that this seems to be intermittent, and there is no EML - does this suggest it is failing, rather than failed, or perhaps sticking?
Would a good 'Drive it like you stole it help?'
I had both EGrRs change a few years ago and would rather not do it again if possible, would rather blank and patch if I had to.
Any ideas, comments?
Cheers
Andy

Egrs are becoming sticky. Best action is to blank them (software update needed for 07onwards to stop the EML coming on. Bodsys Brake Bible
