Very Low Power at low revs <2500
Hi,
When I put the stick in "D" & put the throttle to the floor revs build extremely slowly, & the engine seems to produce little power. Acceleration at <20mph is just awful...coming out of a junction is dangerous. Once the turbo has kicked in the throttle response is better but still more lethargic than it should be.
Any Ideas?

Get it remapped I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Also might be worth checking the turbo hoses for signs of splitting if you think power is deteriorating. But pull away from junctions, and turbo lag is an achilles heel of the D3 I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Hi,
Its not a lag problem, i had my Disco from new so am familiar with its performance. Its is just dead:- 0-25mph takes approx 15 seconds. When the turbo kicks in response are sharper but still slower than normal.
Its for the dealers on Fri, was hoping for a solution direction for fear of having to exhaust the dealers parts bin at horrendous cost before its fixed.

You can usually tell EGR, as it's dead under 2500, but nearly normal above.
So maybe sounds your problem

Hi - I seem to be suffering exactly the same problem - my disco is dead below 2000 rpm - started suddenly today, and I had my caravan on the back. Nearly killed my wife and kids at the first roundabout! Is the EGR valve job an expensive one??

Hi Adam - not under warrenty - will go to an independent specialist rather than a dealer. I have noticed the black smoke now having read further threads on the EGR problems, therefore it would appear that's clearly my problem.....
