low range whistle

low range whistle

I have not used low range settings for a couple of months. Today I just tried the low range without actual reason.
Before I understood that the gears were making a loud noise I turned my head and tried to look where the siren sound was coming.

Should the low range gears make a loud whistle like siren? I do not recall the sound from previous use.

There is a faint whistle on mine in low, at higher speeds, but not loud at all.
