Lower tailgate actuator melted

Hi

Both my lower tailgate actuators powered up the other evening on their own. My son noticed that there was a noise from the back of the car when he came in. After a few minutes I disconnected the battery and inspected the latches/actuators. After disconnecting the lower tailgate latches/actuators, I checked the locking and all the switches locks work fine!

I dismantled them and noticed the plastic cogs had melted.

I took the motor out and then reconnected and immediately they started up. I put a meter on them and they read 13.1v but the other central lower tailgate (which works fine) read 7.3v.

Am I right in thinking it’s the FET connector/relay thing on the CJB that’s fooked? If so, is there a work around for this or do I have to replace the CJB as the FET isn’t replaceable?

Btw, I have checked and re-soldered the ‘green splice’ cable on the passenger sil loom. Strangely enough the keyfob works fine on all the other doors, but I have to press it three times to open the drivers door...coincide?

Cheers
