I can see that the Defner had big wheels and tyres fitted. I wonder how this affects the warranty.

Wow! I've driven some of those roads & I think I recognise some of the slick-rock routes they were on.
I didn't do the lion's back but might have a go next year whilst I'm there!
Would love to take a D3 off roading on those routes although the jeep cherokee we hired was plenty capable.
There are some pics in my gallery.

OT

the difference is that they work with 2+ cameras to show the action from different viewing angles....something us hobby filmers should adopt...

New Apples iMovie 09 does that quite good (have a look at the demo on Apple homepage) and also has a pretty effective stabilisation function....

have a look here... http://www.apple.com/uk/ilife/imovie/#precision

end OT

I am using iMovie 09 and did the upgrade mainly because of the stabilization functionality.

The stabilization function sound great on paper. What it does though is that you lose image information in order to give the system some pixels "to play with" in order to achieve the stabilization effect. In reality it looks like the movie was cropped.

This obviously depends on the amount of stabilization required. For a very shaky movie like when you mount a camera to your car and drive it offroad you can lose up to 50% of the actual image.

Overall I am rather disappointed from this function.

What is working very well however is the precision editor. Thumbs Up

Cheers,
Florian

Sounds 8) Be nice to create a proper D3 clip one day - multiple cameras for the different angles, planned story line etc....

Have a look at the videos of Projekt JK: http://www.youtube.com/user/wayalife?blend=1

Yes, they are the evil J Censored ps but their videos are really 8)
