Probably because the Territory is an Aussie vehicle, only sold in the region so there would be no reason for Ford UK to list or sell parts for it.

That part (the one I've seen) was packed in and supplied from the UK Garry. So it exists within the Ford Europe supply chain systems somewhere.

Yes, the parts guy at the local Ford dealership had no idea the same engine was used in the Disco and the Range Rover Sport.
The engines from late model low km wrecked Ford Territorys are hot items amongst the Disco owners in Australia as they transplant straight in.

Yes, never re use an oil seal, and the crank pulley bolt is a 'tighten once only' item. Very risky to re use that, if that fails, your engine will be shrapnel. Shocked Thumbs Up

D3 owned from new, and retrofitted by me....Front Fogs, Xenons, h/lamp wash, tow electrics, Cruise Control, smooth leather steering wheel, 19" alloys, BAS FBHIC, LR013487 oil pump, AF RRS front lower suspension arms. NO WARRANTY for last 7 yrs.

Never re-use a crank pulley bolt, it is stretched when it is torqued up. Can only be stretched once. Use once only as DN just said. And if you are doing the job yourself make sure you read all the info thats in the manual and here on this website.

There are no shortcuts.

And if the photo on 'DN' s avatar scares you then pay someone else to do it.

if you buy the 'Victor Reinz' brand of seal it comes with a plastic sleeve / guide / tool that expands the seal to fit over the end of the shaft. I highly recommend this brand for anyone, its a high quality item and the guide is an absolute bonus.

I think I got that seal from Advanced Factors.

Victor Reinz Part no on the box 81-34316-00

The instructions in the box say that it must be fitted dry, meaning no lubricants. And it also specifies how long to wait before running the engine.

I went to the hardware store and found a plastic pipe plumbing fitting that fitted over the shaft and matched the face of the seal and used the crank bolt to push the seal in until it was recessed from the housing face by the specified depth, 2mm I think, but check that for yourself.

Hi everyone,

Just bought my Disco and want to do the belts and oil pump change. Any chance anyone could still help me get one of the cheaper Citroen pumps?
Thanks!

Hi again everyone!

I've bought the oil pump, bolt and seal from a main Citroen dealer and have scheduled for these to be replaced, together with all the belts in two days. I've read that one of the members experienced a minor leak after fitting the Citroen seal. Has anyone else used this seal?

The crank must be clean and dry and the seal fitted carefully and dry, engine should not be turned for at least 4 hours after fitting seal. Do NOT put oil on the crank before fitting seal. This is the opposite to normal seal fitting whereby oil is applied to a crank to assist fitting. Must be dry. Thumbs Up
