I did the front pads on mine the other day..........took longer to get the trolley jack and axle stands out of the garage than it did to do the o/s pads - n/s took a little longer as there's the wear-sensor on that side (and also on the o/s/r). You buy the wear sensor separate from the pads - sometimes it doesn't need changing, but in my case it was broken.......some say you can not bother with it, and just tie it up out of the way.

Wheel changing instructions say to raise the suspension to max before jacking - I then put an axle stand under the lower wishbone........just in case !

Bertielad its a straight foward job changing the pads if you have a wee bit of mechanical savvie,if not there are plenty of independants who could do it.You could try 10forcash who is a forum member and he will do a top job job. Try doing a search here and you will find instructions on how to do them if you want to.

as for the quote you had i would tell them to F Censored K off Whistle

Good luck Thumbs Up
Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Bertielad, you can get genuine disk pads front and rear for around £100 off of The Large One AKA Nick @ Yeovil Landrover.

As has already been said, if you're OK with basic car maintenance, then it's not difficult, just the time taken to get the wheels in the air Laughing

There's a comprehensive ZIP file on brakes in my gallery, which also tells you how to do the Electronic Park Brake adjustment which I did last time I had it in the air Thumbs Up

just about do to the rear's on mine this weekend. Went to the local dealer - Roger Young and managed get a discount - just over £45 for the pads. Found the instructions on here, can't see there being a problem.

Just done mine on my Nov 07 SE. Parts from TLO just over £100 delivered next day.
As the others say it a fairly easy job. Hardest job is disconecting front wear sensor as it is behind arch liner so you need to get your head under there to see what you are doing.
I put new sensors on at same time although not needed as such as no lights on .
Front sensor was just starting to 'rub' so would have been on pretty soon. I would say put new sensors on at same time as mine were well stuck to pads, although I did manage to get it off with no damage. For price from TLO you may as well do it at same time!!
Fronts took me about 1.5 hours from start to finish. Backs quicker as sensor connection is not hidden & I had got the hang of what I was doing by then. Well worth it for the £300 you will save!!
 Cheers Ian
