lr4 diesel oil change

where exactly is the adapter for attaching an oil extractor? I have just an oil filler cap and then a big hole. I thought there was meant to be a smaller tube inside?

thanks

The extraction tube is further forward on the same side as the oil cap, on the corner of the engine. Black vertical tube with black plastic cap.

Looking for recommendations...

Does anyone have a recommendation for an oil extraction pump to use on this little tube? I have looked on ebay but they all look a bit weedy* or a bit expensive... Somewhere in between would be nice...

Roger

*weedy as in taking 40 minutes to transfer the contents of the sump... This of course is what they claim and may not be achieved in real life. Oh and the unit in question has a max run time of thirty minutes...

I use a vacuum pump to suck the oil out, like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9L-Vacuum-Oil-F...SwMD5bA4~N

Works for me.

I’m looking at this one as I’ve just done it the old fashioned way and it was a pain 😟

I bought one from Lidl, they come up occasionally. 12v and take about 10 - 15 min to fully pump out all oil (warmed !)
Cost about £13 Thumbs Up
