Luggage / Dog Guard Placement

Just a quickie, does or can the dog guard (LR's OEM) be fitted immediately behind the front row seats or is it after second only?

Can it be fitted at either location (ie you can choose or move as necessary)?

If it is second row only, can it be modified to fit up front (thinking of the fixing point really), or do I need to look for a third-party solution?

Does anybody know of a third-party solution?

Thanks

dog guard location

The standard dog guard only fits behind the second row of seats. There is a britpart alternative which is half height (not down to the floor) but this uses the same fix points. Sad

Thanks gasdoc.

I might take a gamble on the full-height OEM and see if I can adapt it in a Heath Robinson Styleee to fit. Only looking for a basic luggage divider for low-weight boxes, so I dont need anything too ambitious - just want to extend the usefulness of the extra height and space and prevent the load cluttering up the dashboard underbreaking.

I'm looking for the same thing. It would be great if LR did a roller blind type mesh that could be installed behind both the 1st and 2nd row seats - like you can in a Merc or BMW estate!

You'd have thought with the load-lugging capacity of the D3, they'd have thought of that, especially with a view to a commercial variant.

I'm sure a roller bling type product would sell well. Does anyone know any manufacturers that we could approach to make such a product?

Even some sort of bungie net or something similar would do the job. I'm very nervous about carrying loads without some form of protection to stop things flying forward in an accident or hard braking.

The idea is good but the height of Disco means the mesh would have to be so high that it probably wouldn't be strong enough.

Half height dog guard

Has anyone tried this half height dog guard ?

http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/DISCOVERY_...Guard.html

This is from Paddock Spares (looks like the Britpart one as mentioned).

I don't have a dog but seems like a great way of keeping muddy bikes and other rubbish in the back and not covering the head rests with mud and oil marks.

Also looks easy to fit...

That looks really good. I have the full height guard for holidays etc but it stops you using the rear seats if left in place. The part guard looks like it would still allow one seat to be put up/down and used with access through the boot. It looks good value too.
