It maybe a figment of my imagination, but when I start our 05HSE it seems lumpy. As soon as you start to drive, or when you rev it its fine. Just seems like this at idle. Any ideas or anything I should be worried about?
As I said it's going just fine apart from that.

Is the FBH working on a cold morning if the FBH is'nt working to assist the warm up temperature this can cause initial LUMPYNESS.

I think so - it was hot to touch the other day, though haven't seen an exhaust from it tho' haven't looked closely. I'll check. What temp should it be active from?
The lumyness is instant. Catches really well, and drives off well. Just lumpy at idle. Sounds a bit like a slow idling V8, which isn't too bad now I come to think of it

use a fuel additive to clean the injectors. if that doesnt help after 2 tanks driving then get checked at dealer, could be injector pressure balance, alignment, fuel pump etc. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

I have this lumpy startup. Ive had it a long time. Mine is quite bad. The rev counter bounces a lot. once warm things are fine. went to stealer and they said it was fine. no problems what so ever. Still not happy though. I'd love to find out what it is. Current: D3 commercial
Past: but not forgotten D3 HSE x2, 5 TD5 disco2's, 1 200tdi disco1, 2 300tdi disco1 one of which was a commercial, Off roader with a rather large spec, ARB's and big travel suspension to name a few.

I put injector cleaner in as well today and checked FBH - stopped working, but that's no surprise is it?
