Major overhaul!!
Afternoon All.
Been a member here for ages... reckon i have a measly two posts to my name... really should try harder!
Anyway, I finally had to bite the bullet and give the old girl a major overhaul. Thought i'd put a couple of pics on here as i've been using the forum for a bit of reference while it's been in bits which has no doubt saved my sanity!! Thanks to all for that.
Wasn't really intending to go this far... but guess i got a bit carried away!!
First thing.... split in two.
At this point... I knew that it was going to be a whole load more work than intended... but i'd started... so had to just man up and get on with it.

Well done enjoy it's frightening when you see them with the body off and realise there's no going back now -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

Main reason for splitting was needing timing belt change and what i thought was clutch release bearing replacing, plus fuel tank cradle, EPB just started to screech, air suspension issues and various other little niggles... so i figured lifting the body off was going to be the easiest thing.
Once i'd got the body off, i'd got a whole load of rust issues to sort, Cat was about to fall off, suspension bushes were about to fail AGAIN, brakes probably wanted some work, found the leak on the aircon condenser, aux belt looked like a ferret had chewed it... which you can just make out through the pipes in the pic...
All things considered... i knew it was time to do some serious TLC.

I've got a load of parts left over from putting it back together... not sure that's exactly right though
Also got the complete air suspension system to stick on ebay at some point.

Pulled the gearbox off first.
Swapped out the clutch, Release bearing and Flywheel as that turned out to be the issue in the end and not the bearing as i'd assumed.
While working on it i decided the both pieces of the clutch pipe might as well get swapped out as well as the shift bushes which i thought may cure the play in the gearlever... failed on that one though.
Drained the gearbox oil and refilled with new.
Haven't done the transfer box oil yet. That'll probably get done soon too.

Will. Was hoping to find a bigger turbo for it to be honest. Not really got around to researching yet. Did think about maybe just putting a refurb on there though... should give me piece of mind for the future then.
Anyone got any ideas for a bigger turbo?
