Map Update

I own a 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech and have recently purchased an up date for the maps on my vehicle which comes as a usb stick. When I plugged it into the vehicle I get a message saying the software on the disc is older than what is on the vehicle. I have never done an update so am baffled as to why I get this message.
Can anyone out there help please.

I think people have had this issue previously and it was a corrupted USB stick, maybe contact the seller and ask for a new one?
