memorable handover?
last week i had a customer pick up a new disco se auto in silver. it was for his missus birthday as a present that she didnt know about. so on arrival too the showroom we had decorated the car in baloons and ribbons etc. a small bottle of champers in the cooler box, bunch of flowers and a card signed by everyone in the dealership. as you can imagine she was over the moon, making it a very memorable event and handover.
my question to you owners out there are what did you get on handover (i know this was a special occaision so a little over the top) but what would you expect/dod you get as a gift to make it memorable?

I spent 74k on 2 x D3s this April & got bu**er all except the keys. One did not even have a wheel lock key & when that did arrive, it was the wrong one (the dealer's system can not cope with a customer having two cars!). Took 4 months to get the full sized spare that should have only taken few weeks. When you buy Merc, at least you feel you are valued as a customer & worth a bunch of flowers. With LRs you know you are just a nudge towards that month/qtr's figures.
I spent £40k on a new D3. Didn't get anything. I couldn't even get free mats out of them.
Got my wife's new £18k Mini in same month and we got a bottle of champagne with that.
Some friends of ours spend £8k on a new small Seat and they got flowers and free mats!Matt

I got mine 18 hrs after my son was born on 22 December - on the way back in to hospital - didn't really worry that I only got enough fuel to get there
Thank goodness the hospital visiting hours meant that I was not allowed in in the morning
When I purchased our RRS (the dealer demo) we only got six month tax on it, yet the deal was based on the OTR price with 12 months tax. I didn't notice until the renewal notice came through four months later!
Made me feel like I conned!Matt

The Master of Suave !
After ordering the dealer sent me a box with a pewter miniature D3 and a DVD.
At the handover I got a bottle of wine and a Land Rover cap. The sales guy took about 3 hours to show me the car, fill in all the paperwork and introduce me to most of the dealer's staff. I thought that was a nice personal touch...
A couple of weeks later the dealer invited me and the wife to a full day of Land Rover Experience off-road driving... 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.
