When off-roading or driving in low-grip conditions it is very easy to have a whole turn of the wheel dialled in without realising it. The steering wheel picture is to help you know which way the wheels are pointing in case you loose the natural feel of it.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Steering wheel picture is activated when you select any of the Terrain Response settings other than the Normal Road program. Picture will appear in the message centre whenever you turn the steering wheel to show you where the wheels are pointing. You can get a similar indication by selecting the 4x4 information screen instead of radio/sat nav/phone screens. The 4x4 info screen will also show you the gear selected, gear range selected, suspension ride height, differential status and air suspension activity on each wheel.
If you're a new owner try and get yourself a half day voucher for a Land Rover Experience and all will be explained.

Peter,
In my opinion Rockingham is an excellent site and you will learn loads about your vehicle and its capabilities.
The off road section is being upgraded at the moment and by March it will be providing a great experience. The Discovery 4's are both quite new (2013 MY HSE's).
If you are really lucky (or unlucky) it might even be me who will be instructing on the day.
