Agreed, drove back from France on Tuesday, all the time over there on 2 lane motorways, everyone overtakes and pulls in, off the ferry at 21.30 in Portsmouth and instantly middle lane joggers on the M275 , M40 etc etc

If you ever get stuck behind a motorcycle in the middle lane, check to see how bad the lorry ruts in the left lane are and how wide and deep the the pot hole, running along the joint in the tarmac is, between lanes 1 and 2.

Sometimes the road surface can be so bad that crossing back into lane 1 can be lethal; when it does happen, I just know that to anyone following must think I'm being a lane hogger Embarassed

Unless one knows an area it is all too easy to get stuck in an inside lane that suddenly disappears up a slip road and one is then in a dodgey area with no way back to the motorway. M725 and M40 sounds a bit like that.

Did about 50 miles on a Polish d/cway where the slow lane was so bad everyone drove in the fast lane and jinked into the slowlane to let fast stuff through, then went back to the fast lane. Worked nicely. Was a Sunday so no trucks.

This country has to be the worst in the whole of Europe for it. It's drives me mental coming up through the road works between 16 and 19 on the M1 nothing but muppets sitting in the middle lane doing 40mph with nothing in the inside lane. The classic move has to be the ones that move to the 3rd lane when when you come up behind them Confused

That's why the clever Germans mostly only have two lanes...

150 mph & 55 mph - stick to your lane or die....
