Might be of interest to the TDV6'ers
The following might be of help to someone some day if you ever find your self
in the same situation as me the other day.
I have the TDV6 Disco. Driving along the other day and i ran out of Diesel,
(my own fault , really stupid thing to do)javascript:emoticon('')
Anyways the reason for the post, If you ever find your self driving in the "red"
(fuel light on and reading 0 Kms ), your range before the thing stops will be
22 Kms (this is from the point the range (LCD displays "0")
The condition for this test (if you call it that were), B Roads , 6 gear, not exceeding
100kms (60mph) or 2000rpm , Air Con and other none essential electrics all off
(the Radio was still on ok , but I had it turned down ..javascript:emoticon('8)').) . there was no extra weight in the
vehicle (only the driver)
As mentioned this might be of help to someone some day if you ever find your self
in this situation,

Cheers Barry.
Nearly done this myself (when I'd had her a month or two) as I miss judged the distance to the next motorway fuel stop... since then I always fill at around qtr full or at a push when the light comes on.

When I took my D3 for an extended test drive prior to purchase I brought her home for SWMBO's approval. I knew there wasn't much diesel in the tank and the range as I pulled onto my driveway was about 60 miles. That's okay I thought as the dealer is about 12 miles from my house.
Having gained the necessary approval to proceed with my purchase I started off back to the garage to make the deal. The range now said 6 miles So I had to put a few quids worth of diesel in just to be safe. Now I always fill up as soon as the range reported drops to 100 miles.

Hi Smarticus
I got me self a can of Diesel, 5ltr's or so poured it in , she was slow to start and when she did she farted around for a while and would not rev over 2500rpm
after a minuite or so she came good and all was fine .. no resets (thank god)
This happened to me before in an Isuzzu Trooper and I was hours trying to get it going .. The Disco was much better
I only have the disco for 3 weeks , so Im still getting to know it .. i just hope i didnt do any long term damage to it by sucking up any crap from the tank. But considering the fact that it is only new I hope it will be fine. I have 400Kms up on her since the incident and everythig seems fine.
Cheers
Barry

I've sat at idle and watched the range go up from 42 to 56. Wow, this engine makes fuel
