Intermittent loss of sound for radio - everything looped out |
|
I have had an intermittent loss of sound on the stereo in my disco ever since I bought it back in January. I have now completely removed the following modules by way of attaching a most loop to the connector: satnav, logic 7 amp, tmc, Nokia Bluetooth ...all 4 connectors had a red light visible. My car doesn't have a tv tuner or rear entertainment. I'm wondering if it is possible I've missed a module out ?? Also, forgive my lack of understanding but if I remove the amp I would still expect to hear sound right? I assume the head unit has an internal amplifier too.

I had the same with the intermittent sound tried everything and then took a punt on the amp.
Since then not problems.
Picked a 2nd hand one really cheaply so felt I had nothing to lose.
No amp connected = No sound

I ordered a recon Logic 7 amp XQK500105 from a place on eBay. Plugged it in expecting the worst and ... the sound came back!! Finally i've resolved the issue. Interestingly, after plugging the TMC and Bluetooth back in i found both to be not working... its almost like someone dumped a load of dead modules in the car before they sold it on! anyway we have sound now so the kids will be most pleased.
