MOT fail-bulbs!

Wife’s Mini failed MOT because of these Shocked


Examiner claimed they showed white Twisted Evil
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Yes I had a similar issue with rear ones.

You can see the orange is cracked and will flake off over time.

They will be more white than orange when the covering starts to break up. It's one of the disadvantages to having trendy white lenses instead of good old fashioned orange.

I think I got about 17 years out of a pair so can't complain too much Laughing

Bet LEDs don't last that long.

17 years ? so would most BMW and Audi drivers ... they never use those bulbs.

Very common issue, surprised you didnt notice it before presenting it for test?

Does not take much of the orange to be missing or just faded before you can see the lamps are not orange enough.

My wife's Corsa failed for the same thing a few years ago. LEDs fitted now so it won't happen again!

Typical, I changed all the rears because the contacts where worn, never gave the fronts a thought as they worked ok, like a fool Left the old bulbs in the door pocket, this may have made him double check. Hey Ho nothing lost he could have failed it for something far more costly.Wink
