MOT Failure?

Will having an oil leak/drip bring about an MOT Failure?
TIA...

Apologies for hijacking your thread but I was about to post a thread called "MOT Fail??" so it seems logical to tag my question onto yours..

One of my airbags has the 'dust cover' (I think that's what its called) in tatters but obviously this doesn't affect the performance of it. Is that a failure, if so would it still be a failure if I removed all traces of it for the time being?

TIA

Suspension or SRS airbag?

The MOT testing guide can be found here:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/g...-guide.pdf

A very minor oil leak (a weep or odd drip) probably won't fail, but if it's actually dripping or leaving a trail then I would expect it to fail.

Suspension airbag

The problem with the manual is it is open to interpretation.

With the old test, mine passed with a leak which went down as an advisory.

Now sure how the new test will go for leaks. I would get it fixed regardless though.
It may be a failure, so may be worth sticking it in early for a test.

My mot garage told me, that under the new rules that come in on 20th May, if a vehicle leaks more than 75ml during the test, it’s a fail. That seems quite a big leak to me. Even my Hillman Imp would pass!

Fail if it’s brake fluid!
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Steam clean underneath just before it goes in, Less likely to have a problem then

they can't remove any under-shields so unless it's blatantly obvious where it's leaking from, as you hand over the keys just tell them to be careful as you spilt some oil whilst topping it up. Whistle
