MOT passed, but now I have a dilemma...
Passed with 4 advisories. 3 of them relate to tyres which I know are near the end.
However, 1 says slight play in rear upper suspension arm pin/bush. We all know that this is the classic fail point on the rear, and no doubt the other side is not far behind.
I'm with Warranty Direct, and currently have Luxury care until 21st March. They are offering me a renewal at the same price I paid for Lux care (£795 betterment removed), but only for Extra Care (Betterment still removed), which I think excludes suspension components.
If I read the print right, if it had failed the MOT it would have been covered. If its only an advisory, its not covered.
If this is so, I think will let the warranty go, and use the money to pay for new wishbones. There is no point in paying nearly £800 for a warranty and then having to spend almost as much on wishbones.

Indeed. Suspension cover dies with Secure Care.
Unless things have changed but don't think so.

No if Del is right, I'm happy.
This was a 'free' MOT at the main dealer. Guy Salmon have an MOT for life of ownership if you buy the car new from them.

Not sure what Lux Care covers over Extra as never got that high, got Extra Care on the D4.
Looks like you're ok but I'd have started off with a second opinion. I got the impression my advisories ...
Advisory notice item(s)
Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
Offside Front Lower Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
were to justify the cost of the test..

Just had a quick skim read of the WD documents on line and the only difference i can quickly spot is the Emissions and Airbag cover is standard on Lux Care.
Looks like I will be renewing.

Worth getting A&E purely for the cracking of the inlet manifold. Whatever that is.
How many years cover you looking to get? For extras (no betterment, hifi/satnag, A&E, anything i've forgotten) for 3 years they year did three years for price of two. Assuming you want to keep her that long.

No I'm only doing 1 year.
Are you sure the cam covers are not covered without emissions and airbag?

Pretty sure, specifically mentioned in the policy extension for A&E but not "general" list for Extra Care.
Unless I remember wrong. It has been known.

Yes you are right, just seen the small print. 'Casings' as such, are only covered if damaged by a covered part.
That's my negotiating point. I'll see if I can get Emissions and Airbag added.
