The screen angle when the unit is on can be set but I'm not sure if it goes back to flush when the unit is off. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you.

Wow! Looks really great, where did you find that mounting kit? Is it LR or Kenwood part? Does original steering remote buttons work with that new Kenwood unit?

I don't think it's Kenwood or LR, I think it's a third party kit. It was in stock at the Audio shop where I had the work done.
I've lost the use of the steering wheel radio control buttons but on the installation instructions it shows the option of using an adapter (extra price) to connect the steering wheel controls. I'm not sure if this adapter is available for the Disco and I probably wouldn't have bothered anyway. The cruise control isn't affected. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you.

These fitting kits exist in Uk - several options. Do a search on ebay for Double Din and you should find some.

There are some units on eBay for as little as £250. They come from China or Hong Kong but they seem to offer a lot for the money.
The important thing is that with the Disco trim and mounting, the field is wide open. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you.

The screen angle can be set to one of a number of angles including a negative angle. The screen angle when the unit is off can also be set.
You need to be careful with the navigation on this unit (it's Garmin). When I was plotting a route to Aberdeen (as opposed to navigating to a destination) I had to choose between Aberdeen (Aberdeenshire), 500+ miles and Aberdeen NSW, 10,500+ miles. A mistake at this point could be very inconvenient. In fact, it has maps and route plotting for the whole of Europe but base maps for the whole of the world. I think this is common to Garmins. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you.

Not sure whether it is my imagination, but I'm sure that a dealer told me there was an adapter to use an aftermarket unit with the Premium audio with fibre optic amp.
Wonder if anyone has done that?
