| Moving Fixed Tow Bar and Electrics to new D4 Advice |

Hi all
Anyone able to advise what I need to do the above?
Starting with the bar itself, obviously that's just bolts on the chassis and it appears to be 2 bolts, one per side. I'm guessing these are one shot bolts? Anyone know what they are and where I can get some? Is there a receiver already in the chassis of the new one? So just a bolt required?
Electrics, what length of time should I allow to strip 13 pin out the car? Going to get the dealer to activate electrics on the new one. Is it just a case of remove the grommets on the new one and pass the cable through?
Anyone have a link to the guide for installation

check the part numbers with your dealer as there are several differenttowing elec kits, depending on the year. don't know if they changed it for MY16. Bodsys Brake Bible

Looking at the Topix guides for removing the electrics.
Does the bumper really need to come off?

Didn't remove the bumper on my 2010 when I swapped them to the 2016. I don't think you can fit the plate that the connectors hang on without removing the bumper though. I didn't bother removing or reinstalling the plate, just wrapped some thin foam sheet round each connector so they didn't rattle inside the bumper.

Did this a few months ago. No need to remove the bumper, but dropping the spare helps! A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Thanks guys. Doing this now but the indicators are connected back to the rear lights
Any ideas? Seems strange and possible non original loom.

Rats! Is that perhaps one of the "custom made" after-market fitments that some people claim are fine and half the price of LR accessories?

I think so, we think that he cables to the rear lights disable the fog lights when its connected
Loom is in one bit too which is strange

Dare I say it might be much less woe and expense to just put it all back and get the proper LR kit tomorrow? Not sure that cobbled wiring will work on a D4, and you get a nice new towing socket and all the correct internal connectors.
