MPG Display Gone Nuts!
Driving home this evening and whilst approaching a junction I watched the Av MPG display tumble from a steady 37.2 to an erratic 10 to 17 MPG. Over the next few minutes the display remained erratic and very sensitive to throttle before settling and increasing slowly on the remaining 13 miles home, ultimately leaving me with an Av MPG display of around 47 MPG!
All other displays work fine, the trip computer has not been reset since last fill around 120 miles ago and there are no fault codes.
Anyone else seen the MPG display go nuts for no apparent reason (ignoring the LR optimism in the display)?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Probably not related but our megane clicked over the numbers on one of its trip computers to zero. The mpg was all over the place as it took an average over a gallon of fuel. It settled down over the next couple oh hundred miles. Could there be more than one trip computer?

I have only noticed once with the D3, but is it possible that you just turned 1000K on the trip computer,, I know it takes a running average but I'm sure as it went past the 1k everything basically reset and started again.
Maybe clutching at straws but if the trip is at about 13 miles then it's maybe a good starting point

I believe mine (self) reset it's trip2 to zero at 10,000 miles, which would undoubtedly give odd numbers for the first few miles.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Mine also threw a wobbler at 10k miles. At one point it was indicating something like 100 mpg. Wish I'd taken a photo ! I think the cause was that I'd never reset the A trip from new as I used the B trip for tank to tank figures and occasionally looked back to the A trip to see how it was doing as it aged.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
