1 litre will change the whole system, which is probably what you should do if the fluid hasn't been changed recently and working on the fronts
I would never clamp a hose personally. Risk of internal - invisible - damage is too high IMHO.
Then bleed the brakes using the IID tool's bleed feature at the same time changing all the fluid - unless it was done in the last few months. It should be changed every 2 years anyway.Mark.

I did clamp the hose and put plastic over the reservoir so I had minimum loss! Maybe tomorrow or one day very soon I'll be changing the flexible hoses all round so I was happy to clamp the old!
