Mud flaps - good, bad or indifferent?
My new SE didn't come with mud flaps. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether adding them would be good or wouldn't it really make any difference?Zambezi Silver SE / Ebony Leather

I had them added to mine, quite nice quality moulded ones but they are pricey. I actually like the look of them and think they do cut down a bit of spray but are more cosmetic than anything. Will probably end up ripping them off once I start taking her off-road!!2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I bought some for mine.
Quite easy to fit - 15 mins each and you very quickly get spray streaks up the sides without them

If you intend on off-roading I wouldn't bother with them, they're just not flexible enough . I ripped off two today The End

Mine are still here, but I would guess that my off-roading was not THAT extreme...
They came with the car. But I don't think that I would have bothered buying those...

I have them on mine, they keep your car "cleaner" but, the standard onces on the DIII are not very strong. I have one broken already.In a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin. www.m-release.com

I have standard mud flaps, and must have been very lucky on the off-road trips I have been on. Never lost one yet.

I have the "Land Rover" ones (front and back) and haven't yet destroyed them off-road, even in some more extreme scenarios... close, but not yet. A few scuffs, though.
I like them and they are functional. If I was doing extreme off-road 100%, I'd remove them.

Mine had them fitted, they are inobtrusive and actually look intergrated with the body mouldings, they cut down on a lot of the road grime that ends up stuck, saving the car from tar, stones and paint damage. I'm glad they were fitted as they are an expensive option easily overlooked!

Im on my 3rd set on the front and second rear. They dont like deep mud.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
