sorry, thats what I meant as 2 options - we can have 1 fault or the other fault.

My 12 D4 all worked OK, on my MY16 with DRL's the 'van lights arent on, but the rear parking sensore still operate with the 'van attached. I just turn them off from the dash switch.

Exactly the same for me, the MY13 HSE was fine, as was the MY16 HSE, it seems now it's the HSE Luxury and the Landmark that suffers.

My 2016 Lux also has rear lights on, I haven't put it on the van or trailer yet so will see what happens when I do.

I suspect if rear lights come on with DRL the trailer lights will be on all the time, earlier vehicles only had the DRL working on the front, no rear lights. I believe the change was made as a safety feature as some drivers were driving at night with only DRL, not switching on the main lights so had no rear lights.

Confused Safety feature, why is having the rear lights illuminated on the vehicle a safety feature when towing but not when not towing Question
Why is only on Landmark's and HSE Luxury's but not on the Graphite, why does it seem that if the tow pack was factory fitted it works as it should but not when fitted at the dealer Question

Another update on this, my rear lights now come on with the DRL's Shocked

Previous to connecting the caravan it was only the fronts that came on, what is going on?

Gonna have a look with the IID and see what the settings are for DRL's and tow electrics so we can maybe compare.

Washwipe, did you get any feedback when in for it's service?

No Brian, they had it for a over a week, was struggling on another problem with it and never looked at the towing electrics, after ten days I insisted on having it back, didn't fancy towing into Wales with an uncomfortable 2.0 D5.

I've been through the towing electrics with a IID Tool, there are a couple of adjustments you will be able to make but none to do with the DRL's that I've found.

Towbar to Trailor Tow Attachment
Trailer towing Ball to Current Fitted

Change the above will get you another option in the main screen set in Cameras,

Bottom right, you can control the rear sensors and display a Yellow guide line from the towball to your trailer hitch.

Just found this topic. Mine is an early MY16 HSE with dealer fitted towing electrics. Normally plug in a 7 pin trailer through an adaptor which disables parking sensors and lights operate as normal (Front DRL's on but nothing else).

Plugged in my brand new Ifor Williams Car Transporter Trailer yesterday (13 pin) and I have DRL's on at the front and all the trailer lights plus car rear lights on. Parking sensors disable correctly. As an aside my trailer has LED position lights (trailer DRL's?) which are quite cool and as a consequence of my Discos quirk come on without me having to think about them.

Not too fussed and can't be bothered going to the dealer as he had the car for 3 days and couldn't fix the Stop/Start (only continues to work if you brake really hard every few days!) so I don't hold out much hope unless LR come up with a software fix.

I am having a similar problem with my new Landmark. When towing, all the caravan lights come on which is fine, I quite like that DRL feature as both my cars front and rear DRL lights are on whilst solo.

However, when towing and engaging any gear other than 'D' my parking sensors sound and I get the 'parking aid warning screen' ? I also don't have the 3rd box option (like Washwipe) to select the hitch guidance, camera zoom function. I have spoken to the supplying Dealership and been told that the hitch guidance function can only be enabled on cars with factory fitted tow electrics and cant be enabled if dealer fitted ?

I have booked it into my local dealership to get this looked at and if they say that's correct, then its a trip to Dundee to see if Disco Mikey can enable them for me, as its a really useful feature for hitching up my caravan.
