MY2012 navigation question

Is it me or is the navigation in my 2012 HSE a load of rubbish? Yesterday for example it took me off the A34 and into a town. After about about a mile it then told me to turn around and took me back to the A34 via the same junction it just asked me to leave. Another time it told me to leave a roundabout join the A421 (exit 1) when I could see my destination was 200 yds on a different road (exit 2).

It's like it doesn't know where its going!

Sounds as though it needs updating! Rolling with laughter

Our 2011 was a bit like that but after an update it has been fine.

I'm sure the Land Rover sat nav has a secret deal with the fuel companies....it rarely seems to take you the shortest route....and woe betide you if deviate from her intended route, proper toys out the pram Laughing
I had one the other day.....sat nav took me to a destination I'd never visited before....when I pressed "Take me Home" for the return journey,it decided on a completely different route back home Confused

Don't waste your money on an upgrade - put the money towards a decent SatNav from TomTom or Garmin.

Tom Tom are just as bad...2015 is ok, doing the same routes as Google, plus you don't look like a looser with a 50k car and a screen mounted sat nav Rolling with laughter

This is sort of my point - I spent quite a lot on a car with navigation/infotainment already fitted. Don't want to stick a Tom Tom to my windscreen! My old D3's navigation was ancient but worked, not why the MY12's is so poor by comparison. Really slow when entering postcodes too Sad

Im sure the slowness on the 2012 was due to the same hardware running the new OS - but I have no evidence of that.

The 2012 sat nav input can be speeded up slightly by turning the animation effects off in the setting menu, but yes,in comparison to the newer cars it's woeful
