Nav System - Error message

Hi all,

I have an eBay purchased 2009 Nav DVD (copied from a LR main dealer master - naughty, I know!) that has been working fine in my 2005 (2006 MY) D3 TDV6 HSE for ages. However, it has recently started to bring up a 'read error' message and cannot complete a route calculation completely as it keeps cutting to the error message and the route calc freezes. This is accompanied by a loud(ish) whirring sound from the Nav DVD player under the passenger seat.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone have any advice as to how to fix it?

I have cleaned the DVD and it has no big scratches on it. I am covered by LR Approved Warranty until end Feb 2010.

Many thanks,

Kaiser

Put the old disc in to eliminate the player ....or vice versa ...if it turns out to be the dodgy copy disc then serves you right Wink

No sticker on it.

I will try the old DVD (LR Original 2005 edition) and see if it works, I wasn't sure if the system would now be backwards compatible as the 2009 one installed new software.....

Suspect it is the player though.

Cheers,

Kaiser

Ps where the LR Approved warranty exclusions include 'Telephone/TV/DVD/Video' does this mean Nav system?

Old disk will work .. It will just have the old maps back on

If it's a Censored disk .. With crappy dye .. The lazer will have to work a lot harder to read the disk .

Thanks Wiggs, if I need a new DVD I will make sure I go to LR for a genuine one! I believe they are doing a deal on Nav DVDs right now?
