I need to fix my air con........

Finally thrown in the towel and need to get this fixed.

Anyone have any recommendations for Air Con repairs in the Hampshire / Southampton area?

Everyone has thrown in the towel. I've fitted 5 condensers in the last 3 weeks Laughing

Seems the "small leak brigade" have finally succumbed to the heat. Rolling with laughter

I am always needing to fix mine. Going to have a go at changing the condenser myself! Fingers crossed I can do it!

Mikey, is this the component that fails most and is it that difficult to diagnose?

My G4 is in the dealers yet again for the third time this year... they service it, regas it, put dye in it and give it back... they say there’s no gas leaking or can’t find it and give it back to me...

Two weeks later it has totally stopped working again and I am going through the same old process...

Changed dealers and all I am doing is repeating the same old cycle... I guarantee in two weeks I”ll be taking it back to them...

From your experience is there any hidden area where it may be leaking that is not obvious?

Appreciate your thoughts! Very Happy

I popped into the dealer yesterday.

I have no issue paying £150 to diagnose the leak but not 100% confident that what they tell me will be correct.

If they diagnose it, then get them to do the work. If they have misdiagnosed a fault it’s their responsibility.

Other than the Censored factor i’m not too bothered as I have full extended LR warranty and they are happily replacing the whole car bit by bit...still Censored me off the time i’m wasting though!

There’s 3 sets of joins in the pipework running to the rear if you have rear ac. All 3 sets of mine are showing on the joints. Plus I had pin holes along the bottom of the condenser. The pipes themselves are ok but I wouldn’t like to know how to get at them with the body on.

Here’s one set of joins by the rear diff area.

Here’s the ones half way up the sill.

I think mine took a couple of months to leak away.....

I suspected said condensor but was hoping for an easier fix. (No rear air con on mine). Had a look at the pipes when I changed the oil recently and couldnt see anything concerning.

Condensers seem to be reasonably priced at AF so might just get on and replace.

Here we go again....dealer rang me after regassing to say, as Mikey suggested, it’s the rear aircon pipes...great I said I have full LR extended warranty crack on and fit new ones....ah dealer said...theres a problem, the warranty won’t pay out because it’s corrosion!
Didn't help with my temperature today and blew another gasket...despite paying for the full fat warranty it’s not apparently covered...

Warranty company will now speak with dealership.... the dealership are also having another laugh...they want £1100 to replace the pipes and £700 for the brake lines which they think they will damage replacing the others! Wtf...

Think it will be coming out of there pdq.....

How easy is it to blank off the rear pipes....very rarely take passengers in back anyway!

Keep you posted! Very Happy
