New Alloys

I am looking at changing my standard 17" alloys for something a little sportier. All my driving is on tarmac . I like the look of the 20" Stormer rims or the 22" Overfinch tiger rims. Any thoughts or considerations i should make before punting ............. thanks

Hi There Guy

Just changed my 17" as like you I wanted a bit more "show".
here are some pics , these are 20" Stormer Concepts . I was looking to go on 22"
but following the comments from other members here I decided against them.
I live in Ireland and our roads are crap so 22 would have been destroyed.
the 20 are big enough to increase the look , but also have enough of a tire wall
that you can still drive the thing with out having to worry about every pot hole (we have a lot of these over here)

Mr Bling is running on a set of 22" Kahn's , I spoke to him prior to getting my new rims and he seems to have no problems with them at all. There were members that at the time told me of the problems they had. , 9 punctures in two months of driving, having to replace some sort of bushings to overcome vibrations

My advice to you is not to go to big on the tyre width , it becomes very sensitive on the steering and the disco tends to follow any uneven patches on the road
if you don't have a good grip on the wheel you could find yourself in the ditch.

Best of luck with it mate and let us know how you get on

PS. Anyone like my new wheels?
