Hi
I think I need a new battery from reading some posts on here.
Question is which one is best and where from?

as yours is showing as a 2006 is it still warranty if so get the dealer to change it under warranty Tintenter

Hi
I've had the poor starting in the cold for months and the dealer changed the alternator 4 months ago. Now its 4 weeks out of warranty with the same problem, I've tried Millers diesel add in which has helped a little. I keep getting messages when we start in the cold, special programs off, etc.
So I figure a new battery. If it works I call LRCS and give them some sh*t for having to fix it myself!
If it don't work then ???????

i would still go back to deal as it has history of problem and see if they will still honour nothing lost by trying Tintenter

Don't think you can use the Red Top in a TDV6, charging circuits and electriks are tuned for Lead Calcium batteries. IMHO you;re better off sticking to Lead Calcium replacement - Varta aparently make the OEMs, and they also do aftermarket ones.
EDIT:
If you want to go for a non OEM, the Varta part number for their top spec is 595 901 085 - they do a slightly cheaper version, but I can't remember the prices, sorry  But why not try The Large One and see what he can do an OEM one for first:thumbsup: LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Nuts! I have just ordered on to replace my knackered standard battery and to match my aux. yellow top Optima. Mine's a V8 would that make any difference? I'm sure I've seen some pics of LR3s stateside with redtops fitted..

Sorry chap - don't know what's fitted as standard to V8s. All I can go by is what people in the know have told me in the past, people like TFC. You'd best send him a PM. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
