New battery?
Flattened the batter the other night - had left the car with the doors open while working on it. Only left for about 30 minutes, so surprised it had flattened. I had fridge on with the engine off earlier in the day, so perhaps if was just flattened through that.
I've also been getting every so often the HDC warning etc when starting the car, which then goes off once the engine has started (am waiting long enough for system checks etc).
However, I got the HDC error this morning again, and that was only 6 hours after a 2hr motorway run.
Thinking that my battery may be on the way out (surprised that it's only 3.5 years old!!!!). Not sure if it's covered under the extended warranty - but will check.
Is there a better battery to use instead, or is the LR batter the best option please?
Thanks,

Not sure which battery you have now - when mine was replaced they put in an Interstate, a Delphi was in originally. The Interstate seems a lot tougher to kill.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

Only just seen your post John.
I replaced my battery a while back after a period of constant HDC error messages on startup. I got one of these click here.
I'm well pleased with it - a fair price, delivered with 2 days of ordering it and a 5 year guarantee Clubs Mantec, Tasmods, LEDS, AT2s on 18s, Maxxis Bighorns on 17s, Remote FBH, BAS. ReMap, BSS., RLD Personalised SWP., Safari Snorkel, Faultmate, Three Musketeers & MUD
I was also getting the HDC error message before I replaced my battery, I managed to get one from LR at a reduced price through work, but Varta was also recomended to me... the D3 needs a lead-calcium battery. As you slide down the banister of life

Glad to have pointed you in the right direction.
A good firm to deal with for all types of batteries. If you mention that you're a returning customer they'll halve the delivery charge!Clubs Mantec, Tasmods, LEDS, AT2s on 18s, Maxxis Bighorns on 17s, Remote FBH, BAS. You could try having it bench charged to see if it comes good. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Caver's advice seems a bit obvious but this is exactly what I did on mine recently and it sorted it out a treat....
Almost 3 years old and I noticed that it was starting to struggle slightly on start-up. I bench-charged it overnight and it has been perfect for the last 2 months.
Definitely worth a try before shelling out for a new one. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

I have used a CTEK 7000 for a long time now. I bought it to try and recover a batery which I had written off as being no good. A friend lent me his to try and it was so good I bought one. Can be left connected permanently if required. So far I haven't found a battery that this could not recover. I paid 100 quid for it.
Have a look at this http://www.ctek.com/EN-GB/Buy-Charger.aspx?charger=mxs7000
