just back from changing my wheels and tyres in preparation for the trip To Grafton.
Boy there is some difference in weight between the steel with STT's and the Alloy with AT's. I would not like to have to lift the steelies up on the roof rack.

Bought a trolley jack to make things easier, that has just paid for itself Smile Take the road less traveled. Dual battery system.ORS drawers,LR cargo Barrier.ARB Bull bar,side protection bars,Mickey Thompson ATR's 17" rims, Rear wheel carrier, radiator guard TPMS Mitchell Bros Tow Hitch LR RAI Steel Rims , GME UHF, Off Road GPS, Llams (yet to be fitted)

Its a NVP pro lift model F-1900 and I got it from Repco.
Has a 1900Kg work load, biggest I could find. The salesman at Repco said his dad uses one for his Jeep and it was on special. Very Happy Take the road less traveled. Hi Folks,
Thought I had better mention that I tried out the BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2s a couple of weekends ago. This was on the NSW South Coast trip - to avoid the flooding North Coast trip!

I drove my D3 with Norto riding shotgun; WayneD drove his D3 and had TDMP riding shotgun. We drove from Moruya into Deua NP - from Dry Creek camp site to about 5km of the Merricumbene FT. Then turned left and headed down the Oulla Creek FT.

Well, with the BFG MTs on - and I never even bothered to let them down from 42 PSI - it was just a dirt road! There were a couple of chunks out of some tred blocks - from all 4 tyres. I really mean a couple. I was not taking it particularly slow - having too much fun. Thumbs Up

So they definitely munched up the rocks and gravel those fire trails had to offer. On the road, there is a bit of noise from about 40km/h up. The noise then drops in volume and increases in frequency from about 60km/h up. At normal highway speeds (100-110km/h), they are pretty quiet. Thumbs Up

So, I reckon these are great stuff for trips into the rough stuff. I have been too lazy to take them off since the trip - will put ATs back on tomorrow. Need to wash them first - so much brake dust makes it a messy job.
