New car Protective Coatings... |
|
I know these have been discussed on here as to whther they work & are value for money...
opinions vary I didnt get it on my vehicle....I Meguiared mine.
The reason I ask is they also offer a leather upholstery protector....
Has anyone used this & if they have did it provide any protection? ..did leather stay cleaner?
I have a new vehicle coming that has very light coloured seats & I wonder if this works....
but I am concerned that if the "protector" guards against spills will it prevent the use of leather cleaners & the leather food that is good practice to apply..... BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Applying a protective coat is useless if you don't care for your paint afterward. I always had my cars paint sealed but stopped that. Meguiraes(amongst many others) and carefull handwash keeps the paint in a good condition.
Paying for a leather/upholstry protection is BS. Leather gets nicer when being used. Meguiars also has a nice Leather protector. Use that once in a while or real leather wax and your leather stays in healthy condition. CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

I agree. When I got my D3 it came with paint protection and leather protection. I ended up removing the paint protection as the dealer (Ahem... LPR!) didn't remove the fine scratches and basically just put a layer of coating over already dirty paint. Not good! Had to clay my car, meguiar it with 83/80 with a DA and seal the paint. Now it looks like a brand new car!
As for leather, I thought it'd be good but ended up using meguiar's leather conditioner/cleaner. It removed the protection which again came off really easily and cleaned the leather up really well.
There's no way that these fancy paint protection and leather protection systems work if the paint has not been properly cleaned and prepped and this is the same for the leather.
