New CB and new RLD mount
Had a pretty rubbish few months with relationship and health issues so decided I would throw caution to the wind and treat myself and buy the CB I have always wanted!
The Albrecht AE6890!

Used a magmount at first but struggled to get a sensible SWR so contacted RLD for one of his mounts. Very impressed when I opened and fitted it! Lovely bit of kit! Am using a Sirio mount with a 3/8 adaptor so I can also use my 5ft Sirio when range is an issue. The dv plug is just touching the roof at the moment so may look for a smaller one.

Got same CB (jkp look away now) fitted in same place with Uncle Ray's roofrail foxy thing. All fitted by TFC so bang up job and great for listening to the truckers complain about everything under the sun on the M74/M6.

Where did you fit the base unit (i.e. for easy power/aerial access) and also what route did you bring the aerial in by?
Looking for as simple an install as possible....
Darren.

Hi Darren only just seen your question. i mounted the main unit of the cb under the drivers seat. Its ok for me as I rarely have kids sitting in the back as its still quite exposed and could be kicked. The cable is just routed under the mats at the moment but will be done properly when I get some time. I know TFC has done some pretty smart installs with these CB's on other peoples discos.

Cheers Macleod, remember seeing you pic's before and fancied that location, just wasn't sure about getting services to that location (i.e. aerial, power). I'll check out your install pic's.
Cheers,
Darren.
