I'm toying with the idea of a replacement for my 06MY D3.
I have loved this car and can't think of anything else that comes close to it for how versatile it is. It's everything I could ever want in a car and then some. Preaching to the converted here but it just does everything so well without the slightest fuss. Limo, van and people carrier, just brilliant. I'm told the D4 is better still so was looking around to see what sort of prices were available. Jeeez they're not that cheap any more. My 06 would get about £16,000ish I would guess as it's very heavily loaded with kit but £52500 is gonna break the bank for a new one.
I've heard rumour of huge discounts at some dealers of up to 20%, has anyone actually tested these in reality?
A saving of £10k makes a huge difference to the deal.
Let me know whats out there if you're in the know please. Much obliged
May the permagrin be with you!

Fisherman Long time fella !
The 20% was a bit of a one off deal for Robbie I think most of the real world discounts are below 10% ...but as you know it's swing and roundabouts with whatever you are putting in in terms of px. The dealer giveth and the dealer taketh away 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Hi DG
Long long time mate. Been running my business into the ground before it gives out completely.
Luckily the Mrs has got her business going from strength to strength, bless her.
My old girl is up to nearly 80,000 and due for a change so need to play a few dealers against each other to see who wants what little money I have left the most.
I like the toys my HSE gave me and found just about all of them useful, especially the memory seats for the vertically challenged wife. I looked at the XS and it just misses a few of the can't do withouts and adding them just shows how much LR can take the mick on the options, racking up quickly to HSE prices.
I need a few posts to show the wife just how great the D4 is compared to the D3 to convince her it's money well spent.

You may be surprised My recent experience is that if they cant sell them under their approved scheme they will not offer you much above trade price
I had to try a few dealers before I got what i wanted ( which was still less than i thought !)
Good Look...PS. D4 is My missus even had to admit that it was nicer than D3 Cheers Ian

I have similar thoughts with my 70000 mile 55 plate SE. I am going to try and hold out for the D5 as I have spent £2000 in 2012 on my D3 and can't stomach the high thirties cost to change at the moment.
