New Disco3
Delighted to find this forum having moved across from Disco2.com. Having read most of the other posts, and wow there were a lot, thought I'd update you on experience over the last month.
Disco3 base TDV6 7seat is fantastic. Has been in for about a week of repairs so far and has a new steering rack!
MPG mostly school run is 25.1mpg with average mph of 21.3mph. Had hoped for a bit more but have not had the chance to stretch its legs.
Radio had to go back as well, reception lousy. Not sure if dealer actually did anything but I think it's better (probably all in my head). Is this unit upgradable?
Hands free 'phone. Had the Halfords £50 system in D2 and v impressed. Have spoken to manufacturer's technical people and nothing for D3 yet but should be coming out.
I was quoted £700 for sidesteps, saw the post from Duckworth - are these DIYable?
Otherwise excellent vehicle.

what problems did you have with your steering rack, i ask because i am on my second D3 now as the first had an air suspension problem that still to this day LR and my dealer havent been able to fix, however it would seem that my steering on the new car is very clunky and i feel some quite hard clunks through the wheel.
is clunky a technical term ???

Hi, leaking steering fluid. It made a big patch on the drive where the Disco2 used to leak oil. Rats, I thought I had managed to clean it up as well. We even expanded the drive with a chipped area (leaky landy zone - didn't think I would have to park the Disco3 there.)
Leaked and repaired, leaked again and sorted by dealer.

In my experience of Porsches, the clunk that their customers mention was the noise of their heads contacting the rear window under heavy acceleration. Now if that were to happen in a D3..........Disco 4 TDV6HSE
